Schizophrenia doesn’t always look how you think.
It can start like this… just trying to calm my body down.
Because I feel it coming.
And then— it hits.
The hallucinations feel real… and my face gives it away.
This is a schizophrenia episode.
And I just have to get through it.

Hi, I’m Michelle, I live with schizophrenia.
To show that my psychosis isn’t violent or dangerous, I set up a security camera in my apartment. What it captures is me on my couch: talking to myself, reacting to things no one else sees, making weird faces… but never hurting anyone.

I share this because visibility matters, and people deserve to know what schizophrenia really looks like.
