Natalie Portman, Benjamin Millepied split and finalize divorce after affair rumors

Natalie Portman is single.

The Oscar-winning actress and her estranged husband, Benjamin Millepied, quietly separated last year and have already finalized their divorce, her rep confirms to People.

Portman, 42, filed last July and the divorce was finalized last month in France, where Portman and Millepied, 46, live with their children, son Aleph, 12, and daughter Amalia, 7.

The news comes a year after rumors surfaced that Millepied had an affair with climate activist Camille Étienne, who was 25 at the time. “It was short-lived and it is over,” a source told People in June 2023. They remained together at the time despite his “enormous mistake.”

Amid the scandal, Millepied was “doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together” while Portman’s “biggest priority” was “protecting her children and their privacy.”

The situation, however, wasn’t easy for the actress.

“It was initially really tough for her, but her friends rallied around her and helped get her through the worst of it,” a friend of the couple told the outlet.

“Natalie is coming out of a really tough and painful year but she’s come out the other side of it stronger and is finding joy in her family, friends and work.”

The “May December” star hasn’t been spotted wearing her wedding ring since last spring.

“Her biggest priority has been ensuring a smooth transition for her children,” the insider went on. “She and Ben really love their kids and are equally focused on being the best co-parents they can be. Nothing is more important.”

Portman recently was asked about rumors surrounding her marriage in a profile for Vanity Fair’s Annual Hollywood Issue.

“It’s terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it,” she bluntly told the publication.

Portman and the director/choreographer met on set of the 2010 movie “Black Swan.” She’d go on to win Best Actress at the Oscars for her role.

The pair celebrated their 10-year anniversary in August 2022. “Ten years today @benjaminmillepied, and it keeps getting better…” Portman captioned an Instagram post to celebrate.
