She went there to promote her Wyn makeup collection and to give a speech on the diversity of beauty. But that wasn’t the only subject covered. Given how extensively known the Drake and Kendrick Lamar dispute is, it was expected that she would be questioned about it at some point. Serena Williams gushed over “Not Like Us” but refrained from discussing the rappers’ contempt for one another. “I love that song. It’s like the hit of the summer. When they play that jam, I’m jamming. That jam is jamming”, Williams gleefully said. Maybe a tiny portion of that appreciation stems from Kendrick cautioning Drake against making disparaging remarks about the well-known athlete. You may remember that in 2015, she and the latter were mentioned romantically. For the prospective megastar pair, however, things never really clicked. Not so flatteringly, Drake made sure to inform Serena on the Her Loss cut “Middle of the Ocean” of who she was married to. “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie”. Lamar responded by clapping back on “Not Like Us” after that. “From Alondra down to Central, n****a better not speak on Serena”. In case you were wondering, Alexis Ohanian, a co-founder of Reddit and another professional in the same sector, is the husband of the now-entrepreneur. He also spoke to Drake in an amusing and authoritative manner. “The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do including being the best groupie for my wife & daughter”, Ohanian said on X.
