Canada is banning travel to sunshine destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico as part of new travel restrictions to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and its more infectious variants.
But those who still decide to travel will soon have to deal with an expensive bill as they will be required in the coming weeks to get a COVID-19 test on their return, and then stay in a hotel for three days at their own expense before they can live out the rest of their 14-day quarantine at home. The cost could be more than $2,000 for travellers.
