Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says Fox News tries to “trigger” progressive women

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says conservative media will attempt to”trigger” progressive women like herself by using sexist language during an interview.

The freshman Democratic socialist made the remarks in a 2017 Facebook Live video during a 48-hour training “boot camp” in Kentucky for Brand New Congress, the political action committee which first recruited Ocasio-Cortez to run for office.

Ocasio-Cortez said the group put her through intense training — which included preparing her for interviews with Fox News.

“These mock interviews were like the real deal. So as soon as I walked into my Fox News interview, they were calling me like young lady and, you know, amping up that, like, kind of sexist subtext a little bit,” AOC says. “And and it’s meant to, you know, trigger you a little bit and see how you handle that hot seat.”

“You know, I guess the way that I kind of handled my Fox News interview was highlighting … the bipartisan aspects of our agenda,” she continues.

AOC is more fond of fake Fox News than the real thing however, as the congresswoman has never sat for an interview with the network.
