Talking Tech is on the ground in Berlin for #IFA2024, and we’re joined by Intel Technical Marketing Engineer Chris Timm, who demonstrates the importance of hardware accelerated decoding for extremely high resolution video processing. In this Adobe Premiere demo, we see how support for H.265 decode in Lunar Lake’s media engine enables smooth processing and playback of 8K video encoded using Sony’s new professional-grade XAVC-H format. We also see how Xe Matrix eXtensions (XMX) in the built-in Intel Arc GPU enable AI-accelerated auto reframing.
